Something I am always drawn to is how some of the most basic codes of the 13 Moon Calendar provide some Siriusly profound meditations on human existence. Just by looking closely at a selection of the 13 Moon Calendar’s patterns, and applying them self-reflectively, some interesting principles come to light!
One of my favorite examples of this is in the 13 Moon Calendar’s basic sequence of four colors: red, white, blue and yellow. Generally speaking this is a cycle of four days, such as Red Dragon, White Wind, Blue Night then Yellow Seed. It can also be seen as the four weeks of any 28-day Moon, Red Week (Days 1-7), White Week (Days 8-14), Blue Week (Days 15-21) and Yellow Week 4 (Days 22-28).
Each of the four colors themselves have unique attributes:
Red (East) Initiate – Knowledge
White (North) Refine – Humility
Blue (West) Transform – Patience
Yellow (South) Ripen – Power
The same four colors also have unique relationships to each other:
“Analog” (supporting) relationships:
Red + White;
Blue + Yellow
“Antipode” (challenge/strengthening) relationships:
Red + Blue;
White + Yellow
“Occult” (hidden/unexpected) relationships:
Red + Yellow ;
White + Blue
If simply we apply these relationships to some of the key words of the colors (such as Knowledge, Humility, Patience and Power) – some simple yet profound principles arise along with an elegant type of “galactic teaching.” Observe:
Support
- Knowledge supports Humility
- Humility supports Knowledge
- Patience supports Power
- Power supports Patience
Challenge/Strengthening
- Knowledge challenges/strengthens Patience
- Patience challenges/strengthens Knowledge
- Humility challenges/strengthens Power
- Power challenges/strengthens Humility
Unexpected/Hidden
- Knowledge is hidden in Power
- Power is hidden in Knowledge
- Humility is hidden in Patience
- Patience is hidden in Humility
This is just one example of how a few patterns of the 13 Moon Calendar can become a fascinating rabbit hole! For instance, you could apply this same logic to the other key words for the colors: initiating, refining, transforming, ripening… Such as, Initiating and Refining are mutually supportive. Refining and ripening are mutually challenging/strengthening… (Like, have you ever written an article and just can’t stop editing it? The article’s refinement is tugging in the opposite direction of its ripening!)
As you can see, and as with all facets of the 13 Moon Calendar, the rabbit hole is as deep as you want to go.
But the key here is this: Following the 13 Moon Calendar creates a weaving in time of opportunities to reflect upon these types of fundamental principles. For example, a slow-drip method of learning about knowledge, humility, patience and power! 😎
How? Well here’s a bit of homework if you’re so inspired:
Remember how I said that each week is coded by one of the four colors? And every daily galactic signature has one of the four colors? Well, you can utilize this to meditate upon the color of the day in relationship to the color of the week. For example, if it’s a Yellow day in the Red week it is a day of Power within a week of Knowledge. Or, if it’s a Red day in the Red week, you have a day of double Knowledge!
Experiment with this to see how it synchronizes with your own life.
